My Car Value Check is a free online tool that estimates how much your car has depreciated and forecasts its future value. It covers 60+ vehicle makes and 800+ models, using industry-standard depreciation curves adjusted for mileage, condition, body type, and brand tier.
How It Works
Enter your vehicle's make, model, purchase year, original price, current mileage, and condition. The calculator applies tiered annual depreciation rates — accounting for whether your brand is mainstream, premium, luxury, exotic, or electric — and generates:
- Current estimated market value
- Total depreciation in dollars and percentage
- Average annual value loss
- Interactive value-over-time chart
- Year-by-year breakdown table with forecast

Methodology
Our depreciation model uses tiered annual rates based on brand category (mainstream, premium, luxury, ultra-luxury, exotic, EV-native, truck/heavy-duty, discontinued). Adjustments are applied for:
- Mileage: Excess or below-average miles relative to vehicle age
- Condition: Excellent (+5%) to Salvage (-60%)
- Body type: Trucks (+8%) to Minivans (-8%)
This model provides estimates for informational purposes. For precise valuations, consult Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, or a licensed appraiser.
