How It Works
Enter your vehicle's make, model, purchase year, original price, current mileage, and condition. The calculator applies tiered annual depreciation rates — accounting for whether your brand is mainstream, premium, luxury, exotic, or electric — and generates:

Our Methodology
Our depreciation model is built on publicly available industry data aggregated from multiple sources:
- New vehicle pricing: Manufacturer MSRP data, dealer transaction price averages, and incentive tracking from automotive industry publications.
- Used vehicle pricing: Wholesale auction data patterns, certified pre-owned pricing benchmarks, and retail listing price analysis across major used-car platforms.
- Depreciation curves: Tiered annual rates derived from historical price-to-age ratios across eight brand categories (mainstream, premium, luxury, ultra-luxury, exotic, EV-native, truck/heavy-duty, and discontinued).
- Adjustment factors: Mileage deviation from the 12,000 mile/year baseline (0.5% per 1,000 miles), condition multipliers (Excellent +5% to Salvage -60%), and body-type modifiers (Truck +8% to Minivan -8%).
We update our depreciation curves and model data periodically to reflect current market conditions. Our estimates are designed to provide directional guidance — for precise, legally binding valuations, we recommend consulting Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, NADA Guides, or a licensed vehicle appraiser.

How We Handle Your Data
The calculator runs entirely in your browser. We do not have a server-side database, we do not require an account, and the vehicle details you enter are not stored or transmitted to any system we operate.
